Maintenance - Electrical Technician

Compensation Following Training Period: $30.55 - 3rd shift hourly rate

Employment Type: Full-Time - 3rd Shift

Purpose:

  • To ensure machinery and equipment are functioning to provide customers with product, which consistently conforms to specification.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Recommend preventive actions.
  • Document repairs, modifications and consumption of inventory.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman (Machine Repair or Millwright) or Associates Degree
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical repairs
  • Working knowledge of electronics, including industrial controls, PLCs and industrial power distribution.
  • Proficiency with MIG and oxy/gas welding
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent attendance
  • Willing to work any shift.

Tube Mill Production and Shipping

Employment Type: Full-Time - Salaried

Purpose:

  • Provide technical support and communication throughout new product launches. Manage launch timelines to ensure customer requirements are met. 

  • Conduct audits to processes and materials for all launch activities. Coordinate and ensure coverage for launches on all shifts.
     

  • Act as liaison for customers in regards to technical aspects and quality related issues.

  • Travel to customer sites to oversee the launch process involving our products.

  • Coordinate with the appropriate parties to ensure launch deadlines and customer requirements are met.

  • Assist in performing root cause analysis on customer claims or issues during the launch.

  • Maintain a personal business relationship with AK Tube customers and be their direct contact for quality related claims or issues during the launch.

  • Work to develop long-term corrective actions internally and externally.

  • Coordinate and track costs for 3rd party sorting.

Requirements:

  • Technical knowledge of tube manufacturing and basic metallurgy.
    Experience in processing, cutting, bending and forming steel tubing.

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Microsoft Office applications

  • Ability to read blue prints

  • Five or more years in production, sales, or quality in the Automotive industry. Preferably in Steel.

  • Micrometers, calipers, and other quality measuring tools.

  • Excellent attendance
  • Willing to work any shift.
