Maintenance Technician

Compensation: $29.65 Hourly

Purpose:

  • To ensure machinery and equipment are functioning to provide customers with product, which consistently conforms to specification.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Recommend preventive actions.
  • Document repairs, modifications and consumption of inventory.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman (Machine Repair or Millwright) or Associates Degree
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical repairs
  • Working knowledge of electronics, including industrial controls, PLCs and industrial power distribution.
  • Proficiency with MIG and oxy/gas welding
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent attendance
  • Willing to work any shift.

Shipper/Loader

Compensation: $18.90 Hourly

Employment Type: Full-Time

Purpose:

  • Will load any type of finished goods properly and safely on all trucks.
  • Maintain system inventory accuracy by scanning all initial locations and changes
  • Will locate and stage finished goods inventory to be shipped per Pick List using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
  • Follow all customer shipping instructions.
  • Inspect all product for defects before loading. Repack when necessary.
  • Re-tag bundles to meet customer requirements where necessary
  • Provide complete and accurate documentation to Shipping Clerks including tags from all bundles shipped.
  • Unload some shipments other than raw materials.
  • Will put finished goods material from the mills and place into the racking system or finished goods bays throughout the warehouse.

Jr. Materials Planner

Purpose:

  • Assists the Scheduling and Purchasing departments in raw-material, processing, receipts and purchase order data entry.
  • Issue the work orders for processing identifying critical characteristic, such as gauge surface, chemical and physical requirements.
  • Process raw-material certifications.
  • Occasionally purchase raw material.
  • Data-entry of raw-material purchase orders, raw-material processing orders, wide-band raw-material receipts, raw-material certifications.
  • Assist in the development of schedules for materials, processing and production.
  • Assist in coordinating schedules with external processors and suppliers.
  • Assist in generating rolling schedules, stock status reports, purchase order reports, and monthly and weekly receipt summary reports.
  • Expedite raw-material deliveries and responds to raw-material inquiries concerning certifications, receipts, purchase orders, processing orders, heat numbers and inventories.
  • Settle diputes and claims related to raw material, quality and specification requirements.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance.
  • Assist in forecasting and purchase of raw materila to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associates Degree in Business or related field preferred
  • MicroSoft Office Suite
  • Math and data entry skills
  • Clerical experience

Env., Health, and Safety Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time - Salaried

Purpose: 

  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to the management team on environmental and safety initiatives, local and national safety regulations and best practices identified within this industry.
  • Proactively identifies best practices and leads continuous improvement initiatives to reduce work related injuries, raise safety awareness, and improve safe work practices.
  • Ensure all EHS regulatory compliance and reporting are completed accurately and submitted timely.
  • Conducts or coordinates classroom and individual training sessions for all levels of the EHS program, including portions of the OSHA 10 hr class.
  • Performs EHS audits and inspects facilities, machinery and safety equipment to identify and correct potential hazards, and to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Monitor and maintains an adequate supply of all EHS related equipment.  Evaluates the present safety equipment and recommends modifications or adjustments as required by internal process changes or regulatory changes.
  • Conduct and reviews all industrial accident, near-miss incidents and occupational injury investigations to determine if the root cause and corrective actions are adequate and appropriate to eliminate reoccurrences.
  • Supports AK Tube Safety program and activities on all shifts, through safety contacts, observations, inspections, job safety and health analysis (JSHA’s), housekeeping tours, elimination of safety hazards, and accident investigations.
  • Develop Written Programs as required by OSHA

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or certification (CSP, CIH, etc.) as a safety professional
  • Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of OSHA specifications, ANSI standards, electrical codes, NFPA (fire prevention).
  • Basic mechanical skills to understand machine safety issues.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to gain trust and respect from employees.
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance.
  • Ability to develop thorough written policies and programs.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to follow written and spoken instructions.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility with a strong safety program, preferably in the metal industry.  Union experience a plus.
  • Supervisory experience a plus.
