Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Compensation: $31.40 Hourly

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a Maintenance Technician at our Walbridge, Ohio Tubular Components location.  The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring all machines and equipment are functioning to provide customers with product.  This role interacts with the mill crew, and engineering related to the effective operations of the site.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance and repairs
  • Recommend preventive actions
  • Document repairs, modifications and consumption of inventory.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Journeyman (Machine Repair or Millwright) or Associates Degree
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical repairs
  • Working knowledge of electronics, including industrial controls, PLC’s and industrial power distribution
  • Proficiency with MIG and oxy/gas welding
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Excellent attendance record
  • Willing to work any shift

Tube Mill Entry Level Operator - 2nd Shift

Entry Level Operator Starting Wage - $18.30

Experienced Operator positions pay up to $23.90

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a  Tube Mill Entry Level Operator at our Walbridge, Ohio Tubular Components location.  This position is responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and operating the off loader and packaging section of the tube mill on 2nd shift.   This role is responsible for ensuring the tubing is off loaded and packaged  per the customer requirements.  Promotional opportunities are available for experienced operators.  This role interacts with the mill crew, maintenance, and engineering personnel related to the effective operations of the site. 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Offload, hand stack, and package steel tubing manually .
  • Assemble bundles correctly to protect product from damage.
  • Monitor auto off loaders to ensure tubes are off loading correctly .
  • Inspect finished goods and reject non-conforming product
  • Visually inspect tubing for quality defects.
  • Ability to use measuring devices to measure tubing.
  • Repacking and banding – repack tubing into  bundles,  pack, and / or band bundles according to customer requirements
  • Technical skill set to perform changeovers and set up.
  • Ensure the highest level of safety, quality, and productivity are being met.
  • Follow work instructions to produce tubing per customer specifications.
  • Provide support to employees newly assigned to this position.
  • Maintain clean work area and follow all safety rules and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior automotive manufacturing experienced preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed to support customer requirements
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety and position procedures
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively

Raw Material Coordinator

Compensation $42,000 Annually

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a Raw Material Coordinator at our Walbridge, Ohio Tubular Components location.  This is a Non-Exempt Salaried position. This support position is responsible for  supporting the Scheduling, Purchasing, and Sales Team to ensure customer requirements are met. This role interacts with all departments and leadership related to the effective operations of the site.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • To facilitate customer orders and tracking communications between Scheduling, Purchasing and Sales. 
  • To reduce production scrap  by providing updated information that will result in scheduling fewer changeovers. 
  • To reduce premium freight costs.
  •  Track coil delivery to ensure coils are delivered on time for the required production targets.
  • Internally coordinate spot buy purchases.
  •  Communicate daily with ISR’s and Scheduling.
  •  Review Steel Requirements daily and communicate any orders not covered.
  •  Assist with material expediting. 
  •  Provide reports/updates as directed by Manager.
  •  Perform any additional duties assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education H.S. diploma required, College degree preferred
  • Knowledge of APICS-ASCM (Association for Supply Chain Management) a plus
  • Experience Knowledge of Steel Manufacturing
  • Familiar with Purchasing, Scheduling, Operations
  • Prior automotive manufacturing experienced preferred
  •  Proficient typing skills
  •  Time management skills
  •  Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
  •  Ability to follow written and spoken instructions
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively

Electrical Engineering Technician

Compensation $60,000 Annually

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Technician at our Walbridge, Ohio Tubular Components location.  The Electrical Engineering Technician is responsible for ensuring all machines with PLC’s, drives and CNC controllers are maintained and programmed for maximum effectiveness and efficiency.  This role interacts with the the mill crew, maintenance, and engineering related to the effective operations of the site.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain production equipment to maximize safety, quality and productivity.

  • Review, analyze and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and installing to support an organization’s application systems and to ensure safe operation.

  • Troubleshoot and develop technical solutions related to software and setup errors.

  • Create workaround procedures when standard procedures have failed and ensure issues are resolved safely and in a timely fashion.

  • Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and to clarify program objectives.

  • Handle complex application features and technical designs.  Design and implement the components required for complex application features.

  • Write work instructions for relevant tasks.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, equivalent experience may substitute

  • Computer languages, computer logic and specifications and parameters for storing data.

  • Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • 3 years experience with programmable logic, drive and CNC controllers

  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively

  • Positive, high energy, and self-motivated

Tube Mill Quality Auditor

Compensation $40,000 Annually

Cleveland-Cliffs Tubular Components has an immediate opportunity for a Tube Mill QUALITY AUDITOR at our Walbridge, OH Tubular Components location.  The Quality Auditor is responsible for performing plant wide process audits, product audits and reporting findings.  This role interacts with the mill crew, and supervision related to the effective operations of the site.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Support Quality Department by helping them meet customer expectation, and assisting with the development of corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor mill processes to assure finished products conform to customer specifications.  Identify and maintain control of non-conforming product.
  • Support and promote cost savings opportunities.
  • Drive QA Hold improvement activities as directed by Quality.  Conduct various tests using appropriate measurement devices.
  • Provide technical support to other departments as directed by Quality Department.
  • Visit customers for inspection or sorting.
  • Develop and maintain a friendly and respectful relationship with all co-workers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree and/or equivalent experience.
  • 3 years in manufacturing (steel fabrication) with responsibility for quality system support.
  • Good written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Good problem solving and mathematical skills.  Able to read a micrometer and tape measure accurately.
  • Knowledge of different grades of steel.  SPC knowledge
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed to support customer requirements
  • Able to work unsupervised.
  • Team player with the ability to work collaboratively
