Maintenance Technician

Compensation: $29.05 Hourly

Purpose:

  • To ensure machinery and equipment are functioning to provide customers with product, which consistently conforms to specification.
  • Provide mechanical and electrical preventive maintenance and repairs.
  • Recommend preventive actions.
  • Document repairs, modifications and consumption of inventory.
  • Follow all safety rules and procedures.
  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests for service
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Journeyman (Machine Repair or Millwright) or Associates Degree
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical repairs
  • Working knowledge of electronics, including industrial controls, PLCs and industrial power distribution.
  • Proficiency with MIG and oxy/gas welding
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  • Excellent attendance
  • Willing to work any shift.

Production Supervisor

Purpose:

  • To plan, direct, and coordinate the activities of the Operations Department to meet the operating goals, and to ensure all procedures and work instructions are followed in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure others are assigned to tasks, which maximize their ability to follow work instructions and meet customer requirements.
  • Verify decisions made regarding non-conforming product.
  • Train employees to follow current or new procedures.
  • Provide leadership to develop a cooperative working relationship with union employees and work with them to enhance and maintain their skills.
  • Observe needs and delegate tasks as necessary to ensure the highest levels of safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Ensure adherence to terms of the Labor Agreement in all employee relations.

Shipper/Loader

Compensation: $18.30 Hourly

Purpose:

  • Will load any type of finished goods properly and safely on all trucks.
  • Maintain system inventory accuracy by scanning all initial locations and changes
  • Will locate and stage finished goods inventory to be shipped per Pick List using First-In, First-Out (FIFO) method.
  • Follow all customer shipping instructions.
  • Inspect all product for defects before loading. Repack when necessary.
  • Re-tag bundles to meet customer requirements where necessary
  • Provide complete and accurate documentation to Shipping Clerks including tags from all bundles shipped.
  • Unload some shipments other than raw materials.
  • Will put finished goods material from the mills and place into the racking system or finished goods bays throughout the warehouse.

Inside Sales Representative

Purpose:

  • Responsible for receiving electronic, written and telephone requests for quotations, quote preparation, quote presentation and price updates.  Received (written and oral) Purchase Orders are to be reviewed completely and accurately entered in a timely fashion.  Ensure On Time production and customer shipments.  Answer any questions the customer may have, coordinating the important market and account information with fellow sales team members and other department personnel.  Adhere to all company-wide and sales department policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the customer's written purchase order is received and information on the purchase order corresponds with the sales order and work order.  Communicate the customer's delivery needs to the shipping department.
  • Upon determining a need for a change order, make said corrections and enter into Axis computer system, doordinating with other departments
  • Adhere to all company and Sales Department policies and procedures, concerning dissatisfactions, competitive prices and lost orders.
  • Develop and maintain a friendly relationship with your customers.
  • As the opportunity occurs, visit your customers and the tube mills.
  • Participate and/or lead in the efforts of any team or committee assigned.
  • Assist in the preparation of any reports requested.
  • Actively promote the company's Quality Mission Statement
  • High School diploma is required.  A college degree in Business and/or Marketing is desirable.
  • Experience with computers and business software suites, strong oral and written communication, typing and business mathematics are a requirement.
  • Sales experience is desirable.

Jr. Materials Planner

Purpose:

  • Assists the Scheduling and Purchasing departments in raw-material, processing, receipts and purchase order data entry.
  • Issue the work orders for processing identifying critical characteristic, such as gauge surface, chemical and physical requirements.
  • Process raw-material certifications.
  • Occasionally purchase raw material.
  • Data-entry of raw-material purchase orders, raw-material processing orders, wide-band raw-material receipts, raw-material certifications.
  • Assist in the development of schedules for materials, processing and production.
  • Assist in coordinating schedules with external processors and suppliers.
  • Assist in generating rolling schedules, stock status reports, purchase order reports, and monthly and weekly receipt summary reports.
  • Expedite raw-material deliveries and responds to raw-material inquiries concerning certifications, receipts, purchase orders, processing orders, heat numbers and inventories.
  • Settle diputes and claims related to raw material, quality and specification requirements.
  • Monitor and report on supplier performance.
  • Assist in forecasting and purchase of raw materila to meet production schedules and customer requirements.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required

Quality APQP Specialist

Purpose:

To maintain and continuously improve the quality assurance system.

To ensure new and existing business is within AK Tube’s capability & meets our customers’ part requirements from launch through mass production.

To lead the Advance Product Quality Planning effort on new products, processes, and launch programs.

To improve customer and vendor satisfaction.

Responsibility:

Lead Quality Planning for AK Tube & AKTQ through the APQP process. This includes attending APQP meeting with customer(s) on their programs.

Lead Change Management meetings.

Build parts into Axiom system and update existing work orders as needed

Load recipes into Datamyte and help troubleshoot Datamyte software issues

Develop, implement, monitor, and control QA system to assure product quality based on customer and/or product specifications.

Interface with customers and suppliers to resolve tolerance issues & problems.

Coordinate efforts to maintain ISO certification (and assist with TS).

Develop, motivate, and train qualified personnel to QA standards.

Improve QA system procedures and instructions.

Train personnel in QA procedures, instructions, etc.

Education and Experience:

Degreed Engineer or equivalent.

TS-16949 auditor trained desired.

SPC, APQP, PPAP, Feasibility Analysis training preferred

Experience in steel making or fabrication desired

Effective communication with customers, suppliers, and employees.

Understanding blueprints, ASTM/DIN and engineering specifications

PC software, especially word-processing and spreadsheets.

Good understanding of the AK Tube LLC capabilities.

 

Experience in steel making or fabrication desired
